The Dries family has completely devoted themselves to the breeding of arabian horses for western riding. The stud horses - the mares as well as the stallions - are selected strictly by their riding suitability, performance points, correctness and character. Therefore only those individuals are used for breeding which had proved themselves under saddle and at competitions.
Education is written with a capital letter at Fronleitenhof, especially all the young horses are trained, most of them professionally. For this the stud farm works closely together with the professional trainer Mario Bauer, who also shows the stud horses at the major western events. This cooperation is worthwhile, the results and successes Mario Bauer achieved with the horses of Fronleitenhof speak for themselves: among others he won aboard the mare Desert Safanad the bronze-medaillion in reining at the European Arabian Sport Championship.
The broodmares are bred only to excellently performance stallions. At the moment the stud farm is mainly using the U.S. National Champion Reining MHR MUSCATEAL by frozen semen. The first offspring of this exceptional stallion was born at the stud farm in 2000 and is started under saddle this year. The foals look very promising and for certain they will make their way in the competition sports.
The stud also stands the black stallion BR BLACK FLAG for breeding. His offspring is already tested in the tournament sports: at the moment the mare Desert Safanad is probably his most successful child but also the young stallion Mahdan, who is currently in training with Mario Bauer, will surely draw one`s attention in the future.
